Inviting Palkar's from Kapailachary a Gotra of CKP community to establish contacts for building family tree. We were more in Madhya Pradesh around Dhar - Indore districts. 31 March 2008 - Anywhere Webmaster comments   Sourashtra (Palkar) community originally migrated from Gujarat/Kutch region to Tamilnadu via Andhra Pradesh. I am not aware of any connection with Madhya Pradesh, but I could be wrong. Also, the word "palkar" was coined later as a short form of "Pattunool Karar" in Tamil which means silk thread merchants. Most of the community was someway involved with silk threads, dyeing and weaving. So the word "palkar" is just a coincidence. Webmaster

May i know, how Palkar website helps. 20 March 2008 - Bangalore, India Webmaster comments   Palkar.org has been online for more than 14 years. 4 years after being online, a separate domain (palkar.org) was registered and moved to this location. Originally this website is created to network Sourashtrians living in the US, it has expanded to help our community all over the world, including Discussion forums, matrimonial, and recipes. Palkar helpline was created to help poor sourashtra families and students and later spun off to its own website, palkarhelpline.org. Palkar helpline mostly concentrates on helping poor families with paying for tuition, books and uniform for thier kids, though occasionally medical help is provided for needy family. Palkar.org is here to help our community and it is our home in the cyberspace. All of the services are provided free of charge.
